More than 670 lots of lamps by Tiffany Studios, fine clocks, paintings, art glass, Meissen, silver, decorative arts, arts & crafts, collectibles, music boxes, nickelodeons, native american, and americana will come under the gavel during the two-day sale. The many fine lamps offered on day one of the sale will be led by a Tiffany Studios, New York Red Poppy table lamp with a 20 in. shade diameter (est. 60,000 – $80,000); a Rare Tiffany Studios, White Peony Table Lamp with a 22 in. shade diameter (est. $50,000 – $80,000); a Tiffany Studios, Geranium Lamp with a 17 in. shade diameter (est. $30,000 – $50,000); a Tiffany Studios Glass and Bronze Twelve-Light-Lily Table Lamp (est. $20,000-$30,000); a Fine Tiffany Studios Turtleback Tile Table Lamp (est. 20,000-$30,000); and a Tiffany Studios Greek Key Table Lamp (est. $15,000-$25,000). Leading the Duffner & Kimberly lamps offered on Nov. 5th is a Duffner & Kimberly Water Lily Lamp with Rare Leaded Diffuser (est. $8,000-$12,000).
Paintings selling on November 5th are highlighted by Thomas Buchanan Read (American, 1822-1872) Civil War General Philip Henry Sheridan, an oil on canvas in the original giltwood frame, 25 ½ x 20 in. from the estate of Jack and Jane Buckley, Southold, NY, thence by descent (est. $5,000-$8,000); and Guy Carleton Wiggins (American, 1883-1962) “Winter at the Plaza”, oil on artist board, 12 x 16 in. from a Private West Coast collection (est. $5,000-$8,000).
To be offered in decorative arts is a collection of Meissen from Rochester, NY, highlighted by a rare Meissen Hand Painted Porcelain “The Chocolate Girl” (est. $700-$1,000); and a Steuben Angel Window in its original red leather case, 9 3/8 in. height (est. $4,000-$6,000).
Day two of the sale will include an Early Gustav Stickley Tabouret Table with Grueby Tile Top. Early 20th century with quarter sawn oak with key and tenon construction and an early red decal mark. Model no. 53-T, inset with hexagonal green-glazed tile top tabouret, standing at 22 inches high (est. $3,000-$5,000). A Regina Upright Music Box, one of several, with (12) 27 in. disks and 68 ½ in. height (est. $4,000-$6,000). A Seeburg E Style Nickelodeon, early 20th century with a quarter sawn oak case and 57 ½ in. height (est. $4,000-$6,000).
November 6th will also feature over 100 lots of fine clocks. Among these lots; notable items from the private collection of the Calculagraph Co., New Jersey, include an Aaron Willard, Boston Shelf Clock, circa 1800 standing at 35 ½ inches tall (est. $5,000-$8,000); a Willard Style Lighthouse Clock, 20th century, 29 ½ in. height (est. $2,000-$4,000); an Elmer O. Stennes Girandole Banjo Clock with an elaborate gilt case, 45 in. height (est. $1,500-$2,500); and a J.R. Mills & Co. New York A.D. Crane’s Patent Shelf Clock, 21 in. height (est. $1,000-$1,500). Selling from the collection of Randy & Bette Smith is an Ithaca #2 Regulator Calendar Clock, 19th century and 59 in. height (est. $4,000-$6,000); and an Ithaca Regulator No. 1 Wall Calendar Clock, 50 in. height (est. $2,000-$4,000).
Shane Carter’s Winchester Collection from Clarence, NY will also come under the gavel on November 6th. The collection will include Jim Levack’s Personal Jacket, Winchester Rifle & Work of Art. Jim Levack was a veteran of the First World War that, after winning numerous shooting championships, became a member of the U.S. rifle team in 1935 and eventually an exhibition shooter for Winchester. Also, from Carter’s collection: over 75 lots of vintage Winchester Ammunition and accessories.
