When the Westfield Antique Show opens its doors on July 15, it will continue a tradition that began in 1938. It’s most likely one of the oldest regional shows in the United States. Held in Wesfield, NY, a charming village in Chautauqua County, not far from the shores of Chautauqua Lake and Lake Erie, the trip to visit the show offers plenty of sightseeing and other opportunities as well.
Scheduled for July 15 and 16, the show opens Saturday at 10 a.m.and continues to 5 p.m. and continues on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is held in Eason Hall at 23 Elm St. in the heart of Westfield. More than 20 quality dealers from several states are expected to exhibit.
The show benefits the Chautauqua County Historical Society, which is headquartered in Westfield in the historic McClurg House Museum. Westfield was first settled in 1802, making it the oldest community in Chautauqua County. Located in the heart of the Concord Grape Belt, Westfield is known as the Grape Juice Capital of the World. The Welch Co. was established here in the 1890s. The museum is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The museum features period displays on three floors. Displays include some of the earliest artifacts and archival materials relating to the settlement and subsequent development of the county.
